Here is a poinsettia we bought last Christmas. We must have found the right place for it, it has really done well. It has of course lost its flowers and is now green but what a wonderful plant. We (the royal we) transplanted it to a larger pot a few weeks ago and it survived. Now we are going to try and put it in the dark for 14 hours a day and it is supposed to get some red leaves, will keep you updated.

WAUW it really is huge. I´ve always loved these flowers and have got one every year for our weddingday on December 11th, but it jalmost never make it all through christmas, to be honest. I really don´t know why, but even I follow the directions on them to the spot, then I always manage to kill them within a couple of weeks, so it´s truly amazing to see, that you have one this big and this old ha ha ha. Good luck with making it bloom again, I´ll follow it close too my friend.

Lovely poinsettia! Good luck with trying to make it flower again, they can be very difficult but I am sure you have the touch! You do know they can cause stomach upsets in dogs if leaves are munched and the sap, being from the euphobia plant, can be an irritant if exposed to sunlight? Not that Phoebe and Yuna would have a munch of course! Do let us know how you get on with it but the green foliage is just as pretty.
Bonne chance!

as we were gone this week we had to leave our poinsettia with a friend. It has sadly suffered quite a bit due the bad transport. I hope it picks up again......

Hi Joanne, That is a pretty poinsettia. I'm enjoying looking around your blog. Thanks for visiting my blog Embroidery it and below is the reply I wrote to your comment. Enjoy your day!

Absolutely! Hoop your stabilizer and then adjust your design in your hoop by moving it up, right, left, down, whatever to fit more designs in. You don't have to stitch only one design per hooping. The designs here that I used are for a 4 x 4 hoop or 100 mm x 100 mm. Hope this helps and I'd love to see some pictures of the cards you make. One more note...I've read of people using coffee filters as well as potato chip bags for inexpensive or free stabilizer. I've not tried that but what I'm getting at is keep your eyes open for other items you could use or recycle to use as stabilizer that would work for this project. Since this won't go in the laundry, some recycled bit of something might work perfectly. Just make certain that it doesn't produce a lot of lint or dust that could damage your machine.
